So what is Pilates? Pilates was first invented by German born fitness guru Joseph Pilates (1881-1967). He devised a unique set of movements that work the mind and muscle in harmony.
During your classes we will focus on targeting the deep core muscles and you will learn how to activate and hold your T-zone. The T-Zone includes your Transversus Abdominus and the Pelvic floor muscles. Through this specific training your abs will flatten and you will begin to see and feel the results very quickly.
Another key area we will focus on is developing your Gluteal muscles. By targeting all 3 main Gluteal muscles you will feel a transformation not only in posture and poise, but also the way your clothes look and feel.
Other areas targeted are the combination of back muscles, including the lower Trapezius and Rhomboid muscles, both which can get particularly weak if you work at a computer or desk for long periods of time.
We will also focus on toning Biceps, Triceps and Quadriceps while stretching your Pectoralis, Hamstrings, Spine and Neck muscles.
This is truly a workout that when practiced regularly, will leave you feeling longer, leaner and healthier, no matter what your age.
